Laguna B

Established in Venice in 1994 by Marie Brandolini, Laguna B is now run by the founder’s son, artist and designer Marcantonio Brandolini d’Adda. This family business focuses on training upcoming generations of artisans to protect the world-reputed traditional savoir faire of glassblowers from the laguna, while breathing a new contemporary vision into designing objects. Their creations reflect the most beautiful colors Venice has to offer, and pay tribute to the beauty of the laguna’s infinite shade spectrum. Certain age-old techniques, like mouth-blowing, which dates back to the 13th Century, combine with contemporary shapes to give birth to unique pieces that may succeed each other but never look alike… An incredible variety of patterns, vivid colors… creativity and recycling go hand-in-hand: certain pieces are even made of left over glass in search of a second life, recuperated in Venetian studios from the ends of the glassblowers’ pipes . Diptyque and Laguna B have been partnering for some time now. As a result of their mutual friendship and appreciation, stunning pieces have seen the light: tumblers with Moiré or ribbon patterns; paperweights in upcycled glass… Optical effects and graphic playfulness are guaranteed with these exuberant creations that perfectly incarnate exceptional craftsmanship.
