The Summer Water Garden, Revealed in Mosaic

For Summer 2026, Diptyque invited mosaic artist Mathilde Jonquière into its creative world. Working with Venetian enamel, glass paste and gold, she composed a vibrant interpretation of a lush summer water garden, its shimmering freshness rendered in meticulously arranged tesserae.

To capture the essence of a summer forest in the limited-edition Pinède candle, Mathilde Jonquière worked with deep greens, warm ochres and soft, shadowed greys. Each tessera is placed with careful intent, bringing together canopy, light and undergrowth in a composition as intricate as the landscape itself.

Bubbling fountains, flowing streams, cool stone underfoot. Diptyque's summer water garden is the setting for familiar aromatic florals like Lemongrass and Geranium, a fresh new pine grove candle, and the iconic Eau des Sens.
