Impossible Bouquets

Bouquets like life-size portraits, in the grand tradition of Dutch painting. They symbolise six floral scents and the artistic gesture of the perfumer as well as the painter, united by the same desire: to capture nature and elevate it to its highest state. Seasonality, volumes, origins, colours... in this combination of flowers everything is impossible—a fantasy brought to life. Discover these impossible bouquets created digitally by artist Bas Meeuws, vibrating with surprises...

Eau des Sens

Eau de toilette

Do Son

Insects inhabit this majestic bouquet. Intoxicated by the scent of slender tuberose, they linger over orange blossom and jasmine. At the foot of a blue porcelain vase, a model junk boat and a seashell evoke the marine note of Do Son and the morning breeze in Ha Long Bay, mixed with the scents of the tuberose that inspired it.

Tuberose, a beloved, spicy, intoxicating flower, blooms from September to October.

The gentle, sweet freshness of orange blossom... in love with the heat of Morocco and Asia where it blossoms in spring.

Summer blossoms of delicate and flowery jasmine, reminiscent of the Hai Phong markets of yesteryear.

A shell! It’s the perfume’s olfactory accident, this marine accord that refreshes the tuberose—a memory of the light breeze in early morning.

A junk boat, like those that peacefully cross Ha Long Bay at dusk.

Eau de toilette

Eau Rose

In a slender white porcelain vase, opulent Centifolia and Damask roses are left unfazed and undisturbed by a butterfly and ladybug, as a lychee rolls up peacefully to the rose water bouquet.

Centifolia rose, or ‘the rose of a thousand petals’, is also known as Provence rose. Its unique, powdery fragrance perfumes the south of France, where it blossoms in spring.

Ladybugs live in rose beds and we find one in the illustration, which personifies the fragrance.

Damask rose takes its name from Damascus, where it originates, though it is Bulgaria in particular where it is cultivated and flowers in summer.

Pink like a rose, a lychee in all its round splendour symbolises the fruity note present in the Eau Rose perfume.

Eau des Sens

A whimsical bouquet of bright, sun-drenched oranges surrounded by white flowers and glistening green foliage. Amidst the colours, orange blossom blooms and juniper berries revel in their curves. At the foot of the vase, three wise monkeys keep watch, as Eau des Sens is said to cloud one’s senses.

With dark curves, juniper berries invite themselves into the impossible bouquet of Eau des Sens. They give the perfume its fresh, spicy touch and the bouquet its uniqueness!

The gentle freshness of orange blossom... in love with the heat of Morocco and Asia where it blossoms in spring.

Three wise monkeys keep watch, each covering a part of its face. "I know not. I see not. I hear not.” Such is their maxim. By following this advice and wearing Eau des Sens, there is no confusion.

Eau de toilette

L’Ombre dans l’Eau

What is the lovely hand that appears to desire this bouquet? Is it the freshly picked roses or the opulent blackcurrant that it wants to hold? The story of L’Ombre dans l’Eau would say both, as a tangy, green and fruity world unfolds in a cold-stone basin beside a quiet snail.

Romantic poets associate weeping willow with melancholy. Its freshness and sweetness inhabit this bouquet just as its silhouette decorates the bottle of L’Ombre dans l'Eau.

Freshly picked, dark, noble blackcurrant and its leaves mingle with roses and bring a fresh, fruity, green note to water’s shadow.

A stone hand pays homage to the perfumed hands of Madame Merwin, a friend of diptyque’s founders, returning from the garden laden with roses and blackcurrant, which inspired the creation.

Eau de toilette

L’Eau Moheli

Butterflies love this refined and colourful bouquet bursting with fragrance, where ylang-ylang reigns supreme, radiating yellow among tall green leaves and colourful flowers. A grand-scale vision of the island of Moheli to which the perfume owes its name.

A butterfly, which usually adorns the Eau de Moheli bottle, peacefully flutters among the flowers.

Graphic and glistening, pink peppercorns from Brazil mingle in the bouquet bringing a round, colourful touch to the arrangement.

Ylang-ylang in all its dazzling splendor loves the rainy season, during which it flourishes in the tropics. Here the artist has enlarged the petals, as the flower takes center stage in this composition.

Was this pearly shell picked up on a beach in the Moheli archipelago? If you listen, you can hear the song of the waves there.

Eau de toilette

Olene

Venice and its secret corners are embodied in this voluptuous bouquet in which cascading wisteria and the sweet scent of jasmine reminisce on the Queen of the Adriatic. Olene is an olfactory homage to the city in summer; near an antique vase, the lion of Saint Mark stands guard.

£98 | 100 ml

Sumptuously romantic wisteria flowers in the alleys of Venice in spring, when its sweet, powdery scent invades the canalled city.

To prevent the summer sun from burning its delicate petals, jasmine is delicately harvested at dawn.

If Olene is a tribute to Venice, the lion of Saint Mark is its emblem, proudly watching over the bouquet.

Send this Impossible Bouquet to the person of your choice, who will in return receive a delicate gift to discover its scent. Because flowers are messengers…

The Artist

Impossible Bouquets as seen by Bas Meeuws

Bas Meeuws was born in Heerlen, in the Netherlands. The artist defines himself as a digital floral artist. Using his camera, he captures the grace of flowers and the delicacy of their lines and colours, like the great Flemish still-life painters. He then arranges them in impossible bouquets that exist outside of time and season. Each creation thus becomes an elevation of nature itself.
