Return Policy

Cancellation and Returns Policy

We hope that you are happy with your order, but if for some reason you are not we have set out below a summary of your rights in the event that you wish to return a product. Full details in relation to such rights can be found in our Terms and Conditions for Product Sales, which you can access by clicking here.

Please follow the 3 steps outlined below to exercise your cancellation rights and return your goods to diptyque:

STEP 1

As you are a consumer you may, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, cancel your order and obtain a refund within 28 days from delivery.

Pack your items securely with the Return Form in the package. Download a pre-paid shipping label from the diptyque Royal Mail Tracked Returns Portal, attach the label and drop off at the nearest post office.

All items must be returned unused, with authentic labels and in original packaging. You are responsible for returning the products to us as soon as possible. If goods returned are not in a re-sellable condition, we may not accept your return.

If you have purchased an item or items which were delivered with a ‘Gift with Purchase’, that ‘Gift with Purchase’ must be returned with the relevant item(s) in order for us to proceed with the remaining steps of this Returns Policy.

Please ensure that you obtain a proof of postage when you do post your package, as we do not accept responsibility for items which are lost in transit. Your right to return goods does not apply to goods:

(i) made to your specification; or

(ii) which have been clearly personalised (e.g. by being engraved); or

(iii) which by reason of their nature cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly; or

(iv) where sealed goods have been suppliedwhich are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery. eg: removal of the seal from a candle box.

If you have received goods which are damaged or faulty; or their packaging is damaged or faulty; or are not what you originally ordered, please contact us as soon as possible at customerservice@diptyqueparis.com and provide photos of the damaged goods or packaging so that we may ensure the returns and refund process is as simple as possible. Please provide the order number and ensure that you keep the box, packing materials including packing note and all items received for inspection. Your refund for the goods (including the initial standard delivery charge, but not the additional cost of any premium delivery option that was chosen) will be refunded by diptyque as soon as possible by the original payment method, no later than 14 days after we have received the goods (provided that you have returned the goods to us within 14 working days of delivery to you or your notifying us of cancellation).

In the interests of preventing or investigating fraudulent activity: (a) we may contact you regarding returns activity which is suspicious, and/or (b) we reserve the right to deactivate any account which is engaged in suspicious activity.

Candle Care

Here are tips for safely prolonging the life of your candles.

Burn Time

The first time you burn your diptyque candle, allow it to burn for at least two hours, until the whole top is liquid with wax. This will help your candle burn more evenly the next time.
- Standard Candle: May burn up to 60 hours.
- Small Candle: May burn up to 30 hours.
- Colored Candles: May burn up to 90 hours.
- Large Indoor/Outdoor Candle: May burn up to 150 hours.

Trim the Wick

Before lighting your diptyque candle, trim the wick to 1/4-inch length. By shortening the wick you allow it to burn more slowly and also avoid unsightly black smoke marks around the edge of the glass.

Realign the Wick

After blowing out your candle, re-center and straighten the wick.

Safety

Never leave a lit candle unattended. This could be a fire risk. Always place your candle on a level, heat resistant, non-flammable surface away from fabric or drapes. Choose an area free from drafts to avoid uneven burning. Do not place your candle on a marble or glass surface. If the bottom of the hot candle glass comes in contact with a cold material, the glass may crack.
