| Know-how | Fascinated by this precious alloy since her childhood, Osanna Visconti di Modrone makes each of her bronze creations using the lost wax technique: the molten metal is cast in a negative mould. A first wax sculpture is used to create a mould. During the drying process the wax is melted and drained, leaving behind a negative model of the wax object. The liquid bronze is then poured into this mould. The wax model, which Osanna kneads and shapes by hand, is the main element that gives her pieces the identity of her creations. After the final chasing stage, the bronze is ready to receive the final touches and colour patinas. |
