Lilac
Message: Innocence and Youth
This flower's botanical name comes from the Greek mythological nymph Syrinx, which is also the name Pan, god of the shepherd, gave to the flute he made. It is a symbol of youthful innocence and brings to mind the refreshing purity of emotions.
Its name comes from the Persian word “Lilak” which defines the color between purple and pink. These diaphanous flowers flooded the gardens of Suleiman the Magnificent. They were so revered that the sultan offered them as treasures to foreign ambassadors.
It is impossible to capture its fragrant molecules and is thus called a “silent flower”, although it is so powerful when it fills gardens with its delightfully sweet redolence.
